On this iPhone
Technical support
Vyni records a clip of up to ten seconds, keeps the journal on this iPhone, and plays this month’s clips in one order. The steps below match the controls in the app.
Record a clip
Open Record and tap the shutter. The take stops at ten seconds, or sooner if you tap again. Nothing is saved, and no Clip Credit is used, until you review the clip and confirm the save. Nordic Warm, under the shutter, marks that clip for a warm grade when the draft is made. The preview itself does not change color.
- Wide uses the ultra-wide back lens when this iPhone has one. Tap it again to return to the standard wide lens. The button stays lit only while that wider view is actually on.
- Grid draws thirds across the picture in the viewfinder, including only the area the camera is showing. It is a guide and is not part of the file.
- Flip switches the front and back camera. Light toggles the back light when that camera has one. A simulator, or the front camera, often has no light to turn on.
- Brightness sits under those buttons and changes exposure. If the camera is not allowed yet, the slider cannot change a picture.
Use a video from Photos
The button under the record card copies a video you pick. A clip of ten seconds or less is copied whole, with no extra explanation. A longer video asks first whether to keep the first ten seconds. While the file is prepared, a cover blocks the screen so the copy is not started twice. Canceling the picker does nothing.
Save, notes, and credits
Review is where you set the note, tags, place, cover frame, and whether the clip may join a reel. Speech can fill the note from the microphone or from the clip’s own sound; you choose whether to replace the note, add after it, or keep it. Confirming a new save uses 1 Clip Credit. The same clip saved again does not. Vault shows the balance, a Buy button beside it, and the packs. A pack’s name, credit count, and price are on that screen. The purchase cover says Processing purchase. A finished purchase adds the credits. A failed one leaves the balance unchanged. Canceling is silent.
This month’s reel
Play Monthly Reel plays the clips currently in this month’s order. It does not write a new file. Change order, and the list at the bottom of Montage, share that order. If a clip from this month is missing from the order, the arrange screen can add all of them or keep the list as it is. Show all stays at the top right.
Fade between clips is a switch on the play screen. On, the preview fades out of one clip and into the next, and export uses that same choice. Off, both the preview and the export cut directly. The time under the picture has two lines: the current clip, then the whole reel.
Export this month costs 1 Clip Credit. The stitched movie is handed to the share sheet and is not kept in Vyni. Each clip is fitted whole into one frame, so a later clip with a different size is not cropped down to a corner. A text history of the combination remains. Stitch this order, on the Montage list, is separate: it saves a reel inside the app.
Trash and clearing the journal
A deleted clip or reel stays in Trash on the Vault tab for 7 days. Restore puts it back. Delete now, or emptying Trash, removes the file. Clear All Data asks twice, then removes the journal, Trash, export notes, and remaining credits from this iPhone.
If a control does nothing
- Camera, microphone, speech, Photos, or notifications refused: open iPhone Settings, find Vyni, and allow the one you need. Then return and try the same button again.
- Wide, flip, or the light on a simulator: there is no matching camera or light, so the preview cannot change.
- Need 1 Credit: the save or export stops before it starts. Buy Clip Credits in Vault, then try again.
- A clip file missing from this iPhone: the journal can still show the entry. Remove that index entry if you do not want it listed. It is not treated as a saved clip.
Purchase questions that depend on the Apple ID receipt are handled by Apple with that purchase. The credit balance shown in Vault is the balance stored for this installation of Vyni.
